When was the last time you gave thanks for.....?

Do you ever find yourself complaining a lot about the things that are out of your control?  Has it helped you yet or has it hindered you to the point that you continue to stress yourself out so much, that you feel you don't have a place to turn?  When was the last time you gave thanks for....?

When was the last time you gave thanks for the things that you have?  When was the last time you gave thanks for the problems you don't have?  When was the last time you gave thanks for waking up in your right mind to see another day?  When was the last time you gave thanks for the people that have been put in your life to offer you support?  When was the last time you gave thanks for being in the place you are now and not in the place where you once were?  When was the last time you gave thanks for the people that have made your struggle harder and you continue to prove them wrong by still surviving and staying strong?  When was the last time you gave thanks for the various human senses that you have considering others might be struggling to keep theirs or lost already?

The list can continue on and on as to what we can give thanks for but sometimes we can only see the shoulda, coulda, woulda, and why this is happening to me lists.  Everything is not perfect in any of our lives but as detailed above, we do have things to be grateful for.  I don't compare myself to anyone for the sake of saying I am better than them but I do give thanks for not allowing me to go through some of the situations or circumstances they are facing.  And even though I am giving thanks for not personally going through those issues, I am always willing to help when I can.

The Dalai Lama stated "If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry.  If it's not fixable, then there is no help in worrying.  There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever." #SPEAK2MYHEART
